Procurement

Please note that requests to purchase and install independent security systems and cameras must route through the MSU Police Department and MSU Information Technology. As such, these purchases are disallowed through Spartan Marketplace.

This aligns with MSU's continued work to enhance and centralize the university’s security systems—including more than 2,000 cameras across campus, electronic devices and equipment, intrusion alarms, and emergency notification and broadcast systems.

As identified by Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police Marlon Lynch in a recent message to MSU leadership, proceeding with cameras and other technology that does not integrate with a new platform will result in a lack of efficiency once a transition begins.
