Orders and Returns

Departmental Purchases

The University Stores catalog is located within Spartan Marketplace. Orders may be placed using an MSU account number. Once logged in with an MSU NetID, Spartan Marketplace is located on the homepage of EBS. You may also login directly at marketplace.msu.edu.

MSU employees can visit University Stores in person or place departmental orders through Spartan Marketplace for delivery or pickup. To pick up an order, select the In-Store Pickup checkbox in the Spartan Marketplace checkout. Orders will be ready for pickup in two hours.

Personal Use Purchases

To make a personal purchase, visit our online retail store shop.msu.edu and choose from the latest in MSU apparel, flags, shirts, and college-branded merchandise. Many items—including our popular annual ornaments—are exclusive to shop.msu.edu.

MSU account numbers are also accepted for departmental purchases via shop.msu.edu. Purchases may also be made in person at 166 Service Rd.

Returns and Exchanges

Items purchased from University Stores can be returned, provided they are accompanied by the sales receipt and in the original packaging. Face coverings, obsolete, or discontinued items are non-returnable.

Merchandise returned due to an error by University Stores or a manufacturer's defect will be credited 100% if returned in the original package, in undamaged condition within one month of purchase. Merchandise returned for any other reason will be credited subject to restocking fees as follows:

  • Same day to one week: No charge
  • One week to one month: 20%


Provide a copy of the original requisition, exact quantity, stock number, and a description of the item. Complete and submit a University Stores Return/Exchange Form PDF and University Stores will arrange for pickup. If your return is small, you may attach the Return Form to the item and place it in your building mailroom for Campus Mail pickup.
