Logistics

Shipping and Receiving
Outbound ShipmentsLogistics provides a central location to ship goods or materials for legitimate university purposes—including the pick up of outbound USPS, UPS, FedEx, palletized freight, and campus mail shipments.
We do not ship or receive deliveries for student residence rooms, university lodging rooms, or contractor construction sites.
Dry ice shipments must arrive at our dock by noon for same-day shipping.
Inbound ShipmentsWe also manage the university's inbound shipments. Carriers have been instructed to stop at Central Shipping and Receiving regardless of the shipment's final campus destination. Prior to delivery, freight is inspected, identified, and designated for final delivery.
Shipments received bearing a valid MSU purchase order number, contract order, or credit card order number are processed and distributed the same day or next business day. UPS, FedEx, and perishable shipments are sorted, processed, and distributed to recipients the day of receipt.
Shipments labeled with the recipient and building name will help ensure accurate parcel delivery.
Note: Logistics accepts CODs that cover shipping charges only—we do not cover the cost of the product being shipped.
Service Request
To initiate prompt pick-up of an outgoing shipment, submit an online Service Request form, attach a copy of the completed form to the parcel, and place the shipment in the mail room.
- A Service Request form is not required for campus mail.
- Please select the US Postal Service tile if the delivery is to be made to a P.O. box.
